Shota, almost 23 (at the original beginning of this RP), was born in San Francisco to first generation Japanese immigrants. Throughout the years of his childhood, he spent a considerable amount of time in Japan, but he prefers the US, specifically the westcoast. He has always been interested in music (he has been playing the guitar since junior high school), and he has developed an interest in fashion design as well......or you could say it's a calling...anyway, it's why he's in LA.
Currently, Shota is studying fashion design at Otis College of Art and Design and spending the majority of his free time doing a combination of busking, club open-mics and jamming with whatever group will have him...and there are quite a few who will, since his bright personality and guitar skills make him well liked and sought after in that arena.
Preferred RP style: I'll do AIM/MSN or paragraph on GJ...whatever works timezone wise with those I'm RPing with.

I promise I'm not dead...(I've been commenting, see...not dead) just busy and a bit stressed out. I've got the time to check this journal but I can't seem to find regular time to post!
Anyway, things are going well. Mom is almost back to her old self, she finishes most of her physical therapy next week. Subaru and I are doing well and our musical collaborations are doing very well (if I do say so myself). It just seems like there aren't enough hours in the day to do everything I want to be doing.

09:56 am - Dinner - RP for Subaru, Hyde, Hide
Yasu called as he and Subaru were leaving the apartment, warning Hyde that they'd be at his place in about 20 minutes. He was looking forward to the dinner and to meeting Hide. Yasu wondered if he'd live up to his crazy online persona.

01:37 pm - Music and coffee: Rp for Hyde (backdated to Sunday night)
As usual for this particular club, Yasu was up on stage doing another set. Throughout the night he'd mix up his repertoire and play all sorts of things, from slow Japanese ballads to fast rock (in both languages), to Engligh comedy songs. The clientell always seemed to enjoy it and it gave Yasu practice with all his genres.
As the set wore on, Yasu scanned the club for Hyde. They hadn't set an exact time in their online conversation, so he wasn't sure when the other man would show up.

Yasu arrived at the office just a bit after ten. He was nervous and excited as he looked around the lobby area. He'd brought his acoustic incase Leehom wanted to hear some of his original music...as opposed the the karaoke he'd sang at the competition.
Finally he made it to the reception desk. "Hi, I'm here to see Leehom Wang." He smiled at the young woman behind the desk. "My name is Yasu, he should be expecting me."

The day had started out fine, normal anyway, with Subaru doing his usual zombie impression and somehow managing to wake up enough to dress and eat breakfast.
Yasu had driven them to the UCLA campus and dropped Subaru off near the theatre department offices, then gone off to park and laze around in a cafe until the meeting was finished. Shortly thereafter he received a call from his sister.

Voicemail for Subaru:
Subaru..I know you won't get this until your meeting is over, but I just got a call from my sister, Mom's been in some kind of accident..She wasn't too clear on the details, but I have to fly up to SF right away. I'm taking a Taxi to the airport and leaving the car at [cafe] the keys are behind the counter under your name...so please take the car home? Sorry for dropping this on you..I'll call when I know more....Love you.
[C- assume Yasu's voice in the voicemail is very worried and kinda panicky, but he hasn't completely lost it yet.]

Yasu let himself back into the apartment mid-afternoon. After doing the rounds of his old club haunts, he'd received mostly good news, many of the owners were happy to welcome him back. The owner of his favorite had also had a proposition for him, after having heard where he'd been for all those months, but he'd needed to talk with Subaru about it first.
"Subaru?" He called as he kicked off his shoes.

Jetlag after flying from Japan to the US was always killer. No matter how many times he made the trip, Yasu always felt like he was in some weird otherworld for the first couple of days he was back. Time just didn't seem all that real and everything was just that slight turn off normal...
Waking up later in the afternoon, having slept several solid hours, Yasu felt more human, though still a bit temporally unstable. As he gathered more of his whispy thoughts together he registered the feeling of a warm body cuddled against him. Yasu smiled sleepily, pulling Subaru even closer. This was something he never got tired of experiencing.
